The Method

Four layers. One result.

Each project follows a precise, hand-crafted sequence. Our installers train for years to develop the touch — the way pressure, angle, and timing produce the depth and movement that defines a true microcement finish.

01 / Phase One
Day 1 · Quiet & Clean

Surface prep.

We clean, degrease, and key your existing tile. A bonding primer is rolled on and embedded with mesh — creating a permanent mechanical anchor.

No demolition · No debris
02 / Phase Two
Day 2–3 · Hand-Applied

Base coats.

Two structural layers of microcement are hand-troweled across the surface, completely erasing the grout lines beneath. Each pass is feathered and pulled while it cures.

Structural · Foundational
03 / Phase Three
Day 4–5 · Custom Pigment

Finish coats.

The two final layers are where movement, depth, and pigment come alive. Each is sanded and burnished by hand. Tone, texture, and direction are sculpted to your specification.

Sculpted · Tonal
04 / Phase Four
Day 6–7 · Sealed for Life

Seal & cure.

A two-part polyurethane sealer locks the finish — fully waterproof, stain resistant, and scratch resistant. We hand-buff and walk you through care.

Waterproof · Lifetime

"The buyer walked in, saw the bathroom, and didn't ask the price of the house — only who did the walls."

The Return

Quiet luxury adds value the loud kind never could.

+68%

Average resale lift.

Renovated luxury bathrooms with seamless modern finishes routinely recoup 60–75% of their cost — often more in high-demand markets. Microcement reads as architect-grade construction.

−45%

Less cost than tile.

Traditional tile demo means weeks of dust, debris, and disruption — with a price tag to match. Our microcement installations come in 40–50% below a comparable tile project.

25yr

A surface that ages slowly.

Sealed microcement holds up to daily moisture, sun, and use the way stone does. It develops a softness over time — never a tiredness. Backed by full workmanship warranty.

The Honest Answers

Questions, candidly answered.

Most of what people read about microcement online is half-right. Here is what we tell every client before signing.

Will it really go over my old tile? +
Yes — and tile is actually one of the best substrates for microcement. The grid pattern gives our primer something to grip. We've covered everything from 1920s subway tile to 1970s floral wallpaper-tile to chipped marble. The only requirement is that the tile is structurally sound and not flexing off the wall. We assess this on the consultation visit.
Is it really waterproof — for showers? +
Properly sealed microcement is fully waterproof and is used extensively in luxury wet rooms, steam showers, and even pools throughout Europe. Our two-part sealer system creates a continuous, grout-free membrane — actually more water-tight than tile, which relies on caulking and grout joints that fail over time.
Will it crack like concrete? +
No — and this is the most common misconception. Microcement is not poured concrete. The polymers and resins in the formula give it tensile flexibility, so it moves with the substrate beneath rather than against it. Properly installed, it does not develop cracks. We've seen our installations enter year ten with no surface failure.
How is it different from plaster or Tadelakt? +
Plasters like Venetian and Tadelakt are beautiful but lime-based and porous — they patina and require regular re-waxing. Microcement is cement-based, polymer-modified, and modern-sealed: it offers the same hand-crafted depth but with the durability of an industrial floor coating. You can scrub it, steam-clean it, and live in it.
What does a typical bathroom cost? +
Microcement is priced per square foot — every project is shaped by the surface area, the substrate condition, and the finish you select. What we can promise is this: our finished installations consistently come in 40–50% below the cost of a comparable tile demolition and re-tile — and you avoid the weeks of dust and disruption that come with a full gut. Consultations are free, and you'll receive a fixed-price proposal before any work begins.
How do I care for it? +
Like any quality surface — a soft cloth, mild pH-neutral cleaner, and warm water. No abrasive scrubbers, no acidic descalers in the first 30 days. That's it. We supply every client with a maintenance kit and walk you through it on completion day.
